seeming easy at first
the path up the hill looked straightforward
a line following contours to the top
but before long the path dipped and curved
and it became unclear where it was leading

small fears crept in
doubts, other paths to take,
and before long this simple route became overwhelming
what had seemed easy at first turned into slippery crags and peaks
and then the thought ‘give up’

but acceptance is not ‘giving up’
it is not weak or simple or easy
it requires the strength to climb a mountain
you are not cheating, you are taking the path to know yourself
and at the end acceptance will ring that bell of truth
